Our Exciting Life

What could be exciting with the Gene Monney family in Texas? We haven't gone on any wow vacations! We just seem to be work-a-holics and keep busy being busy. Just like most of you do. Appointments to be made, things to be fixed, teenager to satisfy, yards to be mowed, service to others to be rendered, errands to run, bills to be paid, letters to be mailed, meals to be fixed, clothes to be washed, lessons to be prepared, scriptures to be read & pondered, seminary at 5:30 am, church on Wednesday and Sunday, home evening, food to be canned from the garden, yard to watered, dishes to be washed, bodies to be bathed, some TV to be watched if you have time and a hundred other things to do that by now I'm too tired to mention. Kami advanced to 12th grade and to a brand new high school in August for her senior year. She had a fantastic June at girls camp where she was a leader this summer. In July she went to youth conference in Nauvoo, Illinois with 80 youth for a week of spiritual awakening. A step back in time with no electronics and lived and learned to be like pioneers. She had a church dance once a month and that little Kami loves dancing. Shes had friends over weekly and a number of friends pizza party /with games and dancing. No true boyfriends this year but lots of guys that are just friends. That makes mom and dad happy. We hope for nothing too serious until 2nd year of college. Just for her to have fun with lots of people- boys included. After all, this is the time to grow, learn, study and enjoy life and have time to figure out what you will do with your wonderful life-- cause you can be married for 51 years(like us) ! and 5 to 10 years of being single won't kill you! At least from our point of view. Our life revolves around getting Kami raised and she keeps us busy and happy and is challenging as any teenager. Having said that I will close my thoughts for another day. Yes, it is sunny here and we are frying!

Merry Christmas- 2009

We changed Mom's Blog to a new one and I added all the old stuff to this one! That is why there is this old Christmas letter here now!

Merry Christmas!

We're busy and enjoying the Christmas season. It's been a great year. It seems that all of our adult children are doing well and are happy and busy with their families. Our (16! le gasp! ) grandchildren are wonderful and we enjoy time with them or talking with them vie Email or telephone. I'm still busy with homemaking and church callings. Kami keeps us busy with her activities in school and church, so we don't have much time for retirement. (Kami: Mom gets irritated when I mention a project -.-') Gene will be happy if he never retires! Ha! Gene is still working for his brothers family business. Nannie has had a pretty good year and a great blessing to our family.

Here's wishing everyone the best!

May you be guided by the light of His love, touched by the wonder of His peace, and inspired by the beauty of His grace.

Merry Christmas!
Gene, Ann, and Kami
